Dr. Dittmore began at the University of Arkansas in Fall 2008 and currently serves as the Assistant Department Head/Graduate Coordinator for the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation. His faculty appointment is as associate professor in recreation and sport management.
Prior to entering higher education, he worked 10+ years in sport public relations. Dr. Dittmore received a PhD in educational leadership and organizational development from the University of Louisville in 2007, an MA in communication from Drake University in 1995, and a BA in news-editorial journalism in 1991, also from Drake University.
He had the good fortune of working at two Olympic Games (Atlanta 1996 and Salt Lake City 2002), traveling to 10 countries, and presenting at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has worked three U.S. Olympic Festivals, a Pan American Games, an NCAA Final Four, and countless professional, collegiate, and international sporting events. Most recently, Dr. Dittmore served as Venue Media Manager for aquatics at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
