Salvador Barraza-Lopez currently is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics at the University of Arkansas, where he began his career as faculty in the Fall of 2011. He obtained a PhD from the University of Illinois in 2006 under the guidance of Karl Hess. He completed postdoctoral stays at Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, working with Kyunwgha Park and Mei-Yin Chou, respectively. He is the recipient of an Early Career Award from the DOE.
Research in the group revolves around two-dimensional atomic materials and charge transport across nano-structured materials. We maintain active relations with experimental and theoretical groups on campus and elsewhere.
